I can hardly believe it is March already. The seasons seem to fly by so quickly. I guess it feels that way when we are getting old.

Another Spring will be here soon. Spring is a time for renewal and freshening up around the house and even our mental state. We have been indoors and running the furnace. That may be why the Spring season makes us want to open the windows and let the fresh air flow in while we do a little spring cleaning.

It is a good idea to diffuse during any season but especially in the winter season when the air becomes stale. Some Spring Diffuser Recipes will surely help freshen the air and also help get in the frame of mind for the coming Spring season.

Spring Fresh Diffuser Blend
3 drops Purification
3 drops Eucalyptus Globulus
3 drops Pine
2 drops Ravintsara
1 drop Petitgrain

Spring Garden
5 drops Lavender
3 drops Jasmine
3 drops Ylang Ylang
3 drops Hyssop
1 drop Elemi
1 drop Geranium

Wipe away those winter blues while disinfecting and deodorizing the kitchen, bathroom, or work area:

4 drops of rosemary
8 drops of lemon
4 drops of eucalyptus
8 drops of lavender
1/2 quart distilled water
1/2 cup alcohol
Mix in a spray bottle. Shake well and continue to shake well while using to keep the oils and water from separating.

Lemon oil is an amazing essential oil for cleaning and freshening up most anything. You can add several drops to your cleaning solutions to clean and purify your kitchen and bathroom. Lemon is tough on dirt but it also smells wonderful.

Make a spray bottle of water with 15-25 drops of lemon oil to sanitize bathroom or on kitchen surfaces.
Add lemon oil to freshen and sanitize your dish sponge or cloth.
Use 1-2 drops lemon oil to remove gum, oil, grease spots or crayon.
A few drops of lemon will make your wood furniture glow.

One oil I really love using in diffusing and in cleaning is Abundance oil, especially in my office and other areas in my home where I do business projects. Abundance oil is great to put you in a feeling of abundance but also is uplifting and smells awesome!

Cleaning Floors
1/8 cup Thieves Dish Soap
1/8 cup white vinegar
1 gallon warm water
Mix ingredients in a bucket. Use to mop floors.

Furniture Polish
16 ounce spray bottle
Two teaspoons olive oil ( preferably the light kind)
15 drops of essential lemon oil
1/4 cup white distilled vinegar
Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water
Spray formula on your rag or directly onto the furniture. Wipe it dry immediately. The olive oil conditions and the vinegar cleans. You can also squirt some on your dust mop for your hardwood floors

Mirror and Glass Cleaner
3 cups water
5 drops Citrus Fresh
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner
Combine in a spray bottle.
Spray mirrors with solution and wipe clean with a lint free cloth.


Tub Cleaner

Make a thick paste with Thieves Household Cleaner and baking soda. Apply to tub and scrub with sponge or a soft cloth. Let sit 15 minutes, then rinse.

Healthier Bleach
1 cup peroxide
1 cup water
20 drops lemon
Mix and use.

One of the most overlooked natural cleaners available is vinegar. Vinegar is used by many for cleaning purposes, as it’s natural and doesn’t contain the harsh chemicals that many store-bought cleaners contain. Vinegar is effective with mold and is a natural antiseptic and fungicide. Just put it in a spray bottle and go. The smell with dissipate within a few hours. There are so many ways to use vinegar around the house. Here are just a few ways that vinegar will become a staple in your cleaning routine!

Mold and Mildew Spray
2 cups distilled white vinegar with 2 cups water
Pour vinegar into a spray bottle and spray on infected area. The smell will dissipate in a few hours (open a window to speed up the process).
Helpful Hint: For areas with persistent mold problems, use tea tree oil instead of vinegar, combining 2 drops of tea tree oil with 1 cup of water in a spray bottle.

Cleaning Moldy Windows
Add 1/4 cup of white vinegar to a gallon of water along with two caps full of Thieves Household Cleaner. Use a small towel to apply the liquid and a squeegee to clean it off. Floor-to-ceiling windows sparkle in minutes!

Bathroom Cleaning Tips
Vinegar works great on bathroom floors, fixtures, and faucets to remove hard water stains and buildup. Use a 50/50 blend on most hard water spots. For harder to remove stains use a 2:1 ratio of vinegar to water. For an additional cleaning boost, add 2 drops lemon or orange oil for every cup of water used.

Kitchen Cleaning Tips
Drains and garbage disposal, pour 1/2 cup baking soda followed by 1/2 cup white vinegar and cover tightly with a plug or wet rag. Let mixture sit for five minutes, then flush with boiling water.


Summer is approaching and with it, lots of outdoor activities. Essential oils can be wonderful to support all kinds of fun in and out of the sun. Here are a few recipes to enhance your summer fun.
Young Living Summer Essential Oils
Great Outdoors Spray
In a 4 ounce glass spray bottle:
2 oz distilled water
2 oz Witch Hazel
Add essential oils:
10 drops citronella essential oil
10 drops peppermint essential oil
10 drops lavender essential oil

Or 30 drops Purification oil blend

Shake well and spray on as needed when enjoying the outdoors.


Pesky Working In The Garden Spray
10 drops peppermint essential oil
10 drops Young Living Purification essential oil
Add to 4 oz of water in glass spray bottle. Use with mister and spray over body. Shake well before use. Keep away from eyes.


Blend For Walkers, Joggers and Runners
5 drops rosemary essential oil
3 drops peppermint essential oil
4 drops lavender essential oil
Mix and rub on your feet.


Muscle Cream

10 drops Young Living PanAway
10 drops peppermint
2 Tablespoons coconut oil


Or
10 drops Young Living PanAway
10 drops peppermint
in a 10 ml roller bottle filled with carrier oil.



After-Sun Spray
1/2 cup distilled water
1/4 cup aloe vera gel
8 drops of Lavender essential oil
2 drops of Roman Chamomile essential oil
2 drops Geranium essential oil
Blend together and pour into a 12-16 ounce fine mist spray bottle. Spray skin if you have been over exposed to the sun. Do not get any in eyes.



Minty After-Sun Spray
25 drops lavender essential oil
3 drops peppermint essential oil
1 TBS Aloe Vera Gel
Add to 4 oz of water in glass spray bottle. Use with mister and spray over body. Shake well before use.
The peppermint is very cooling to the skin.



Moisturizing Hair Spritz
If your hair is dull or naturally dry, spritz this recipe over your hair throughout the day to keep it from looking dry, particularly if you are planning a day in the sun.
1 cup distilled water
10 drops Young Living Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood
10 drops Frankincense essential oil
8 drops Cedarwood essential oil
8 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
1 tsp. V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex
Add all ingredients in a 12-oz. spray bottle. Shake well before spritzing over hair, avoiding the roots.



Hair Detangler
From extreme roller coasters to an afternoon on water skis, summer activities can tangle your hair. Smooth out knots with this hair detangler!

1/2 cup Lavender Volume Conditioner (or other Young Living conditioner)
1 1/8 cup hot (not boiling) distilled water
3 drops Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood essential oil
3 drops Cedarwood essential oil
3 drops Frankincense essential oil
Put conditioner into a 12-oz. spray bottle. Add distilled water and shake. Add essential oils and shake again. To use, spray on dry or damp hair, focusing on the ends.
