You’ve got a date night planned with your sweetie and it’s going to be a romantic dinner and a little love and snuggling. Sometimes getting in the mood can be a challenge, especially when you have had a busy or stressful day. Some days you just want to curl up under a blanket and watch a movie or read a book. That’s when I like to grab a few of my favorite essential oils to get in the mood. 😉

One thing that always makes me feel sexy is fragrance. Long before I started using essential oils I loved fragrance to feel sexy. I used bath products and perfumes. Back then I didn’t know how many harsh chemicals are in most of the personal care products on the market.

I am grateful that, over 22 years ago, I learned about essential oils. They are way better for shifting the mood than those products with harsh chemicals that are known to cause headaches, rashes, sinus issues and more. Day by day these harsh chemicals of concern are undermining our health, and working against any actions we take to improve health.

Anyway …
Essential Oils to Set the Mood For Romance
When I am needing a bit of a lift I like to start with Rose essential oil. I call Rose oil the “BIG GUNS”. There is just no way you can smell this oil, and have a bad day. Young Living rose oil is nothing like anything you have ever smelled before. It is NOT the sweet smell you expect after smelling cheap oils. It has a rich, intense smell to it. It doesn’t really smell like fresh roses to me, because it is so concentrated and potent. Rose oil has the highest frequency of any measured oil – 350 megahertz, provided that it has been distilled properly and not adulterated.

One drop in a little carrier oil is wonderful. Add a drop of oil to your favorite recipes for romance.

I like to add a couple drops of Rose oil to Young Living’s Joy essential oil blend. I love that combination.

One oil that REALLY gets me going is when my husband wears Young Living’s Shutran. Just smelling it on him, OH MY!

Lady Sclareol is an oil blend that you can apply to your neck and wrists to wear as a perfume or mix with a carrier oil to add a warm sexy bath.

Ylang Ylang and Jasmine oils are two oils I like to wear as perfume and add to all kinds of romantic recipes. Both Ylang Ylang and Jasmine are very sexy smelling oils.

Ylang Ylang is steam distilled from flowers of trees grown in Ecuador and Madagascar, Ylang Ylang essential oil has a sweet, fruity aroma that is the perfect complement to any romantic or relaxing evening. Its moisturizing properties make it a key ingredient in many luxury skin and hair products. Ylang Ylang is often classified as a “heart” note in blends because it emerges just as the top notes begin to dissipate.

Help moisturize skin and enhance the appearance of healthy looking skin by adding a few drops of Ylang Ylang to your favorite skin care products.

Make a linen spray to set the mood for a romantic evening by combining 5 drops of Ylang Ylang with water and witch hazel in a glass spray bottle.

Wear Ylang Ylang calming and relaxing perfume. Apply it over your heart or on your wrists. Rub it onto your palms, cup your hands over your nose, and inhale deeply to inspire feelings of serenity and joy.

Massage it into your scalp to increase the appearance of healthy, shiny hair. Add a couple drops of Ylang Ylang to coconut oil for a deep conditioning hair treatment that will nourish your and scalp and support the appearance of healthy, shiny hair while leaving it smelling floral and sweet.

Create a spa-like experience by putting a few drops of Ylang Ylang into a hot bath to unwind after a long day.

I also like to make my own personal lubricant with a bit of coconut oil and a couple drops of Mister. I discovered that one by accident when I was out of Dragon Time Massage oil.

You could make up a personal lubricant with 1 oz of coconut oil, 5 drops of Sensation, 2 drops of Black Pepper and 2 drops of Peppermint. Sensation oil blend helps to create a romantic mood, while Black Pepper and Peppermint provide a warm/cool sensation.

Experiment with combinations to find what you personally like. Just, please don’t use petrochemical lubricants.
